Lady Gaga praised
Bruno Mars, describing him as a "once-in-a-generation artist." She made these remarks while thinking back on their 2024 Grammy-winning song, ‘Die with a Smile, ’ which was well-reviewed by critics and demonstrated the close relationship between the two musicians.
Lady Gaga on Bruno Mars: "He’s like my brother"
Speaking to Extra, she said, "He's like my brother. I really care about him and only want the best things for him. He's so talented. He's like a once-in-a-generation artist." She also shared the inspiration behind the song: "We wanted to make a love song, and I think that was the perfect thing for us to do together, because I think we feel similarly about making the public smile."
New album: ‘Mayhem’
She added another chapter to her impressive discography with the release of her most recent album, ‘Mayhem,’ at the same time. Years of success did not change her passion. "I think that when I am putting out a record, every time, it feels like the first time," she said. Gaga fondly remembered her early days, adding, "I think about, like, being in New York City and going to dance rehearsal and putting in all the sweat and tears with the dancers and then performing for record labels, auditioning, playing shows, hoping people come, praying that they show up so the record label can see you have fans... that, like, stayed with me my whole career."
Fame and identityGaga also revealed a weaker side. She discussed her difficulties with celebrity, particularly the emotional toll it took, in an interview on ‘The Howard Stern Show.’ Speaking of her song ‘Perfect Celebrity,’ she acknowledged, "I think in a way, when I was writing, I was feeling like there was the real me and there was the clone me." She called the song "a little bit of a retaliation against myself... kind of a reckless tune, I think, in a way."
